22 Sep

You will see Philadelphia is a historic city by seeing National Park, Carpenter House, Independence Hall, Liberty Bell and city played as a very important part in developing today United States. We also see a Fire Station founded by Franklin, still working today.

Susan is very expert in her works. She’s not only gave me for good explanations to the historic things, but also delivered idea and inspiration to me.

Then we passed to Betsy Ross’s House to reach Historic District. Amazing district that I’ve seen in my life. We can imagine things that was happened in last 200 years by seeing this picturesque place.

Then we were in a Quakers’ Church. This is the first time I’ve known about Quaker. Nancy gave me some lectures about Quakers. After that In the Marriott Courtyard Hotel, by the recommendation of Robert I tasted some Oak Meals. It’s looks simple but rich in nutrition for good for health. Quakers’ also played in some important role in the early United States. It’s should be proud that some Quakers were very first persons opposing to the Slavery. It will be very difficult to release your slaves if you were slaves owner and businesses depends on those salves at that time.

The person who dare to free his slaves must have very open and clear visions. It may be right or wrong that The Quaker’s Practices would be the one thing that encourage to oppose the slavery. Thanks Nancy for giving me things that I did not know ever.

B Free Franklin

On the way to our lunch, Brouse Center(formerly it was a commodities exchange center or trader center), we entered to the B Free Franklin Post office. Not only Philadelphia is maintaining the buildings and architects, they are maintaining the systems also. This post office system is started from Franklin.

Then Susan said Bye Bye.

After we made lunch at Brouse, we went to the UPS for sending small present parcels to Don(CEO, International Society for Technology in Education) and Hartley (Vice President, Innovation Center) at Washington D.C. Here again, I heard a lot about UPS services when I was in Burma. UPS played very important role in modern E-commerce systems. Now I can taste myself about UPS. I noted the two UPS codes. When I back to my room I put those two numbers into the Google Search Box and started checking their status. Google and UPS make me smiles. :)

Then we have time so that we gone inside to the House of First United States Flag Maker. One lady was wearing like Besty’ and Robert greet her “Hi Besty ? Are you Besty ?” I’ve no time for boring anything while I stay with Robert.

You may see lots of story telling circled benches around the corners, by the way. It can host about 5 people for story telling. Lovely chairs.

Unfortunately my camera’ batteries were gone so that I had few pictures. But I totally satisfied about the pictures what I’ve got.

How about Franklin’ Press before next appointment ?
It is a must place to visit in the city. You will see what the Benjamin Franklin is ? Also you can study the 18th centuries news papers and their effects to the public.

All the staffs who work at the Franklin Press or Besty’ House or other public services never hesitate to start explanation to us.

Wireless Philadelphia
Philadelphia is started implementing to be a internet wireless city. Greg Goldman explained the story. This service will soon become very common like other municipal services provided today. This will change the way we live, the way we learn. This is a new revolution for today.

There were so many revolutions in the world, Industries Revolution, Televisions Revolution, PC Revolution and now it become Internet Revolution. Before TV, we didn’t imagine that we would pay one or more hour a day for watching in it. Today, there’s no one who escape from watching TV.

But Internet will take not only one hour or more a day, it might take all 24 hours from us. Communications, Educations, Entertaining, Learning, Trading, all could be done by internet. Please do not avoid it, it can not be. But please fact it, it could be.
